Agency workers regulations will come into force in October 2011
Despite widespread criticism, the controversial Agency Worker Regulations 2010 will come into force with effect from 1 October 2011.
The regulations ensure equal treatment for agency workers in respect of their basic working and employment conditions in comparison with permanent employees. Importantly, however, equal treatment will only apply after a temp has worked 12 weeks in an assignment.

When it comes to managing sickness absence, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) estimates that for every £1 spent on vocational rehabilitation and return to work services, the return is £12. So what is vocational rehabilitation?
