Dear Visitor, As you know, we are participating in a number of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce events during 2011. Details of the second seminar are below. Our usualy newsletter will follow in the next couple of weeks, but we thought you might appreciate advance notice of this event to assist in planning your recruitment strategy. With best wishes from Getting Recruitment Right Hampshire Chamber of Commerce are hosting 3 standalone HR seminars throughout 2011 presented by HR Solutions 4U in conjunction with Phillips Solicitors. The focus for the forthcoming second event is recruitment – a subject that often strikes fear into business owners. But fear no more, because we want to help you to implement effective recruitment practices in your organisation to ensure you attract and retain the right people for your business, whilst remaining within HR regulations. What can you expect from this session? Laura Davis, Director of HR Solutions 4U, will be looking at crafting a job advertisement correctly, and from that how to shortlist effectively so you are only interviewing the best candidates. However, for many the challenge starts at the interview stage so Laura will take you through running an interview based on establishing competencies and getting to know what makes applicants tick. At the end of this session you will have a good idea about how to interview and find people who are a good fit for your business. Guest speaker, Maxine Hart of Wote Street Employment Bureau, will cover the effective use of recruitment agencies and how “temp to perm” can work for your organisation. Finally, Kelly Rayner, employment solicitor at Phillips, will be exploring the legal pitfalls you need to be aware of throughout the recruitment process, and what to do to avoid them. At the end of the session you will have an opportunity to ask questions and will have some clear steps to use when recruiting in your own business.
